William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England in 1564. Throughout the course of his life, Shakespeare penned 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and two epic poems that are all so timeless in nature that they are still read, studied, and analyzed in today's modern society.
In order to develop a true understanding of William Shakespeare and his contributions to society and literature, it is crucial that we establish an understanding of Elizabethan England and the era in which Shakespeare produced his masterpieces.
