In Danbury, Connecticut a strange virus has developed.  The hospitals are packed with patients, school is closed and medication doesn't seem to alleviate the symptoms people are experiencing.  Not a single doctor has been able to identify what is plaguing so many citizens (pun intended). Fortunately, you have just returned from identifying the Asian Bird Flu overseas and are here to help. 
 
You've spent several hours reviewing patient files who seem to have contracted this strange virus, but can't think of a modern day disease with the same symptoms.  You discuss the files with other doctors, interview patients and research the web - still no success.  Then you think back to your 8th grade English class...
 
What did Mrs. Reynolds tell me about the plague when I studied Elizabethan England?
You locate your old 8th grade English binder, blow the dust off and begin reading your notes labeled "BLACK DEATH".  Your notes on the plague aren't the best, but some of your notes on the symptoms of the plague seem similar to what the patients in Danbury are experiencing

You decide to go to the library and start researching for more concrete information.  You put together a portfolio for other doctors and medical professionals to review.
Your medical document must contain the following:
  • Cause(s) of the plague
  • Symptoms of the plague
  • Treatment for the plague (used during the Elizabethan Era)
  • Three great impacts the plague had on society during the Elizabethan Era
  • Pictures (possibly a map showing the spread of the plague)
