Mystery

Mystery fiction stories are written to engage the reader in solving exciting, suspenseful plot twists, which are usually centered around a crime. Murder, theft, and trickery are the most common central themes of a mystery story.

Bad Kitty                                        By:  Michele Jaffe
The book I read is called Bad Kitty, a story about how a cat (named Mad Fred) changes Jas’ life forever.  While resting at the poolside in Vegas, Mad Fred knocks her over and being Jas, she gets wrapped up in a murder case as she discovers this cat is the pet of a woman named Fiona whose case is being worked on.  With the help of her buddies and the “spoiled guidance of her cousin”, Jas may get through this…even if it’s all the cat’s fault!

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time
By: Mark Haddon

I would definitely consider this novel to be one of the best I’ve ever read.  It is funny, in a different way from most other books.  The main character is autistic and can’t determine human emotions by their facial expressions.  This makes the story more unique and an interesting, unusual, and unpredictable read.

This is the story of a boy, Christopher Boone, who finds his neighbor’s dog dead and is determined to find out who killed it.  His investigations lead him to great adventures that help him discover not only who killed the dog, but about his family and if the life he’s been living is real.

After finding out important pieces of the puzzle of his past, Christopher goes on a journey to solve the mysteries of his life.  In his great adventure, he faces many lonely and intense obstacles and needs to find ways to overcome them.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is a really well-written, intriguing, and unique book.  I recommend it to anyone who asks.

The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin
The Westong Game is about people playing a game to get an inheritance. It is about what the teams do to figure it out. I think that it was a very good book. The author did a good job keeping the secret. I would recommend it.
